Pinocchio Awards has had a huge impact on the local areas. It has motivated people to take bold steps in their lives. Lobbying Our lobbying has influenced the actions. In this context, YAC is delighted to present Pinocchio Children’s Library. Through the collaboration of the Collodi Foundation- this competition gives designers the opportunity to create an unprecedented project. They are given the opportunity to design the first and largest children library inspired by the fairy tale of Pinocchio. YAC – Young Architects Competitions announces the winners of Pinocchio Children’s Library, an ideas competition that was launched last September and aimed to the design of the greatest international library dedicated to Pinocchio, the most famous puppet in the world.
- YAC is a association whose aim is to promote architectural competitions amongst young designers – no matter if graduates or students. First YAC wants to propel research about design, by periodically suggesting tangible issues on Architecture and City planning.
- Villa Sorra is situated in the heart of the countryside of Emilia. It is surrounded by trails of fog wounding their way through the morning light and the checkerboard created by peasants’ hard work.
Pinocchio Competition Meaning
The jury that assessed the submissions was noteworth: Italo Rota, Mario Cucinella, Fabio Novembre, Emmanuelle Moureaux, among others, featured on the international panel. There was a total cash prize of 20,000€ to reward the winning projects: the 1st prize – 10,000€ – was awarded to the French team “vGHcompany”, the 2nd prize – 4,000€ – to the Polish team “Gierbienis + Poklewski” and the 3rd prize – 2,000€ – went to the Guatemalan team “De Oliveira Castro Arquitectos”. The 4 Gold Mentions – a prize of 1,000€ each – have been assigned to teams “OPV” (Italy), “OOLI” (South Korea), “DEPLUS ZATTI” (France) and “Pájaros mañaneros” (Spain). Besides, 43 additional projects have been awarded 11 Honorable Mentions and 32 Finalist Mentions respectively.Continue reading
